Note: This feature is available only to administrators and to inventory assistants with permission to edit product data.
Edit a product's primary information when you need to enter or change any of the following recorded data:
Common Name: The product's primary name.
Manufacturer: The name of the company that manufactures the product.
Address: The contact address of the manufacturer.
Telephone: The contact telephone number of the manufacturer.
MSDS Format: The official format of the product's MSDS.
Revision Date: The date when this product's MSDS was last revised.
Internal ID: A code name or ID number that identifies this product (or this revision of this product) within your company or facility.
Primary CAS: The CAS number of the most prominent or otherwise noteworthy ingredient in the product's chemical composition.
Language: The language in which the product's MSDS is written.
When you save your changes, they become visible to any user viewing the product's primary information.
To edit a product's primary information:
Starting at the Product Information page
Click the EDIT button at the top of the display.
Note: This button appears only when you are logged in as a) an administrator, or b) an inventory assistant with permission to edit product data.
The Information Administration page opens, showing the areas of product data you can edit.
In the Modify Indexes area, click Primary Information.
The product's current primary information is shown in fields.
Edit any of the data displayed.
Note: If you need to refer to the product's MSDS, click [View MSDS] in the upper right to open the product's MSDS in a new window.
Click Save in the lower right.
Your changes are saved. Any changes to the product's common name or manufacturer are shown in the title bar in the upper left. All changes are now visible to any user viewing the product's primary information.
